Ilvermorny hasn’t been a huge school like Hogwarts since the start, neither was it made with such purpose and was just a small shack that had a family of Isolt Sayre (a capable witch), her husband James Steward (a muggle), and their two adopted kids Chadwick and Webster Boot.
Moreover, it has made great progress and reputation in very little time as the school was recognized by MACUSA (the Magical Congress of the United States of America) in the 1600s. Although it is arduous to get admission in Ilvermorny and only the students belonging to North and South America can get admissions there. Well, the major difference between both is that Hogwarts was located in Scotland whereas, the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was on Mount Greylock in Massachusetts, North America.
